Experience

Roxanne Christ is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Corporate Department. She is Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Technology Transactions practice. Ms. Christ’s practice focuses on intellectual property, technology and media transactions, including both US-based and cross-border acquisitions and dispositions of intellectual property portfolios; commercial loans secured by copyrights, patents and trademarks; securitizations of receivables arising from copyrighted works; and licensing and strategic alliance agreements; and purchases, sales and restructurings of technology and media assets in bankruptcy. Ms. Christ has recently handled matters on behalf of Sonova Holdings, Takeda Pharmaceutical, Avery Dennison Corporation, RHI Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Sony Online Entertainment, Harrah’s Entertainment, New Horizon Interactive (former owner of Club Penguin), Ganz (owner of Webkinz), Perfect World Entertainment, Gigamedia Limited, Saban Capital and Yucaipa Companies as well as numerous investment banks, commercial banks and private equity funds.

Ms. Christ was recently recognized in the 2008 and 2009 Legal 500 US guides as a leading attorney in Technology, video and online gaming corporate advice and the Legal 500 US: Volume II - Intellectual Property, Media, Technology & Telecoms. In the 2009 Chambers US guide, Ms. Christ is considered by clients to be one of the leaders in the burgeoning video game industry.” Ms. Christ is Co-Chair of the Publications Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Special Committee on Computer Gaming and Virtual Worlds.
