Corporate Equality Index
Latham & Watkins has earned a perfect 100 percent score in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation which is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. The CEI rates businesses on a scale of 0 to 100 percent based on several factors including non-discrimination policies, transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. Latham & Watkins is proud to receive this honor by the Human Rights Campaign for its LGBT-related policies and practices and commitment to diversity. |
BTI "Power Elite"
Latham & Watkins ranks #7 in the 2008 BTI "Power Elite" - a leading group of law firms based on client satisfaction and service which BTI Consulting says "boast the most and the best client relationships." The study polled more than 400 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies and large organizations. Benchmarked against more than 350 law firms, Latham continues to have a top market position with clients four years running. According to the study, firms within the BTI "Power Elite" possess more primary relationships with large and Fortune 1000 clients, win more slots on clients' short lists, demonstrate prowess in "bet-the-company matters" and boast superior levels of client satisfaction. |

Latham & Watkins ranks #1 in the "Best 20 Firms to Work For" and #2 in "Quality of Life - Overall Satisfaction" categories in the Vault Guide to the Top 50 UK Law Firms 2009. Latham also received #1 rankings in the guide's "Quality of Life" categories for "Office Space" and "Pay," and secured Top 10 rankings for "Solicitor/Partner Relations," "Selectivity," "Informal Training," "Diversity - LGBT," and "Pro Bono." Working Mother's Magazine - Best Law Firms for Women
Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers has recognized Latham & Watkins as a "2008 Best Law Firm for Women." The magazine names 50 law firms to its prestigious list, which honors "firms that have instituted female and family-friendly benefits" and that "are redefining the standards of success by creating a workplace that encourages the retention and advancement of women." Firms are selected based on workforce profile, family-friendly benefits and policies, flexibility, leadership, compensation, and advancement and retention of women. Latham was named to the list based on numerous factors, including: the firm's generous parental policy which offers paid leave to birthmothers, adoptive parents and other primary and nonprimary caregivers; PRO-RATA program in which all associates returning from parental leave can opt to work a reduced schedule for six months; Women Enriching Business initiative which provides customized training for attorneys to build broader networks and enhance their business development skills; and advancement opportunities, with women representing a third of the firm's committee members. |
