Kelley Michael Gale is a partner in the San Diego office and serves as global Chair of the firm's Project Finance Practice and Co-chair for the firm's Air Quality and Climate Change Practice. He has practiced law with the firm since 1979 and established the firm’s Project Finance Practice in the mid-1980s, which now includes over 150 attorneys in many of the firm’s offices. His practice centers on the representation of both private and public sector clients in the development, regulation and financing of renewable energy projects and capital intensive infrastructure projects. Mr. Gale was recognized in Chambers Global 2013 and Chambers USA 2012 for Projects: Renewables & Alternative Energy, Who's Who Legal - The International Who's Who of Project Finance Lawyers 2013, and is recommended as a 'solar and renewables expert' in the Project Finance category of The Legal 500 US 2012 guide.
Mr. Gale has represented major project lenders and developers in connection with many different types of energy projects, including geothermal, wind, solar, biomass, waste-to-energy and hydroelectric as well as natural gas fired peaking and combined cycle projects. His environmental and energy law expertise includes a broad range of work in the air, energy regulation, hazardous waste and land use areas. Mr. Gale also has extensive expertise in the development, redevelopment and financing of capital intensive real estate projects.
Mr. Gale is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and of the Natural Resources Law Section of the American Bar Association.
