Peter J. Wilson is Counsel in the Litigation Department in Latham & Watkins' Orange County office. He is the former Head of the Orange County Litigation Department, and his practice involves all aspects of business litigation, including professional liability; franchise, dealership and business opportunity disputes; alleged unfair and/or unlawful business practices disputes; design and construction disputes; building mold remediation and dispute resolution; product design and defects disputes; securities litigation; class actions; class arbitration; intellectual property matters and employment matters.
Mr. Wilson has been a litigator since beginning his career as a prosecutor in South Africa in 1977. After two years in that role, which included the prosecution of capital offenses, Mr. Wilson was admitted to the South African bar as a barrister. During his six years as a barrister, Mr. Wilson's practice included business litigation, personal injury claims, insurance defense, matrimonial and custody disputes and criminal law, including defense of persons charged with capital crimes.
Mr. Wilson moved to California and joined Latham as a litigator in 1986, focusing exclusively on business litigation. He is a member of the California Bar, and is also admitted to practice in federal court in the Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association.
