Jenny Allen is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on securities and professional liability litigation, and she represents public companies, officers and directors in connection with:
- Securities class actions
- Shareholder derivative litigation
- Mergers and acquisitions litigation
- SEC enforcement actions
- Other complex, high-stakes litigation
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Allen has experience representing corporations, partnerships, tax-exempt organizations and real estate investment trusts on a variety of issues, including the international, federal, state and local tax consequences associated with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and financing transactions. She has successfully completed all sections of the Certified Public Accountant examination and has studied the taxation of real property, individuals, US and non-US corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, trusts and estates at the graduate level. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Allen interned for Ernst & Young, LLP as a tax consultant, and during law school, she worked in the legal department of the Franchise Tax Board of California.
Ms. Allen currently serves on Latham's Security Committee and Technology Committee. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association. She provides pro bono legal assistance and other support to Orange County's domestic violence shelters, nonprofit organizations, and the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Stanford Alumni Association and is the president of the Stanford Networking Breakfast Club of Orange County and for the Orange County Stanford Association Board.
Ms. Allen is admitted to practice in the federal court in the Central District of California and the United States Tax Court.
