José Luis Blanco retired from the partnership in December 2017. He is the former Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ Spanish offices. Mr. Blanco focused his practice on public and private equity-backed mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions in Spain, other European jurisdictions, and throughout Latin America. He regularly advised strategic buyers and private equity houses on transactions such as management buyouts, leveraged buyouts, and related financings.
Mr. Blanco has drawn on significant experience advising clients on successful transactions. He has been involved in nearly all of the major energy transactions in Spain in recent years, advising companies in the oil and gas and power industries. Mr. Blanco has also advised corporate clients, investment banks, and private equity houses on their most sophisticated M&A transactions in Spain and Latin America.
