Dr. Marco Núñez Müller retired from the partnership on December 2016. As a member of the firm’s global Antitrust & Competition Practice, he focused his practice on competition and EU law, in particular on:

  • Merger control
  • Antitrust including cartel defense and cartel damages (before the German Federal Cartel Office (FCO), the European Commission, third-country cartel authorities and, specifically in cartel damage cases, before the competent courts)
  • State aid law (investigations of the European Commission as well as before the European Court of Justice and the competent German courts)
  • Trade law (customs, antidumping and export control proceedings before German and EU authorities, German finance courts and the European Court of Justice)
  • Regulatory matters

In public procurement law, he has helped clients and bidders with preparing and conducting tenders and represents them in legal review proceedings before public procurement tribunals and courts of appeal.

Finally, having dual German and Spanish citizenship, he has frequently advised Spanish and Latin American investors and exporters on German corporate and regulatory issues.

Mr. Núñez Müller was a “recommended” lawyer for Antitrust and State Aid and a “leading name” for Customs and Trade (Handelsblatt Best Lawyers 2015 & 2016, JUVE 2015/2016, Chambers Global 2013). With more than 100 cases to date, he is recognized as one of the most experienced German litigators in matters before the General Court of the European Union and the European Court of Justice.

Mr. Núñez Müller is the author of numerous publications on antitrust and state aid law. For many years now, he has been chairman of the annual state aid conference of EUROFORUM and a board member of the German-Latin American Business Association. At the time of his retirement, he was a member of the International Bar Association, the Union Internationale des Avocats, the German Lawyers’ Association and the German Competition Lawyers’ Association.
