In a survey of law firm practices conducted by the Law360 news service, Latham & Watkins was cited as having one of the largest global Media & Entertainment law practices. The firm’s diverse Media & Entertainment practice group was lauded by Law360 for “residing firmly in the convergence point between media and technology,” with a practice featuring a “cross-disciplinary team [that] includes attorneys who specialize in international transactions, patent litigation, privacy issues and data breach concerns,” among other areas of expertise.
Latham & Watkins also maintains an Internet & Digital Media industry group that provides specialized counsel on the sector’s legal, technical and business issues. In the Law360 coverage, Roxanne E. Christ, a Los Angeles partner who chairs the firm’s Technology Transaction practice, explained how Latham has developed diverse capabilities and a range of expertise to attract innovative media clients with cutting-edge legal challenges: “Our expertise on technology transactions and our presence in Silicon Valley, combined with L.A. and our global footprint, were an advantage,” Christ said.
