In a published survey ranking law firm practice areas, the Law360 news service has named the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group of Latham & Watkins as the largest global white collar litigation group among law firms. Law360 cited the practice’s “expertise covering a wide array of government enforcement matters and deep roster of attorneys.” With 196 attorneys dedicated to white collar defense and investigation matters, Latham & Watkins counsels clients on compliance, internal investigations and outside probes and prosecutions involving issues such as securities fraud, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, criminal antitrust matters, environmental claims and computer intrusions. In the survey coverage, the firm’s practice co-chair, Los Angeles partner David Schindler, emphasized the group’s strong trial experience. “The people that we have in our practice group are people that also try cases,” he said. “As counselors and crisis management folks, having people that routinely try cases provides a unique perspective that is helpful to clients.”
