Karima Salway advises clients on all aspects of complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions with a UK nexus.

Karima leverages her sophisticated understanding on global markets and extensive transactional experience to guide strategic corporates and banks on:

She unlocks Latham’s global platform to connect clients with the resources they need to mitigate risk and maximize deal outcomes. Karima approaches each transaction with pragmatism and delivers pragmatic, client-centric advice.

Karima was seconded to Morgan Stanley, where she worked with the UK investment banking division on a range of corporate transactions and corporate advisory matters.

A recognized leader at the firm, Karima has served on Latham’s global Recruiting Committee.

She maintains an active pro bono practice, including work for Parents 1st, a nonprofit program for parents across England.

  • Delivery Associates on its sale to Trill Impact
  • Duke Street, Wagamama management, and certain other shareholders on The Restaurant Group’s acquisition of the Wagamama group
  • The sellers on the disposal by way of auction of the Method and Ecover global consumer products businesses to US private company SC Johnson

Cross-Border M&A

  • Bandwidth on acquiring Voxbone
  • The founders of Dubizzle on selling their shareholdings in Dubizzle, the largest online classifieds platform in the Middle East
  • Theramex, a global specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to women’s healthcare, on CVC Capital Partners’ US$703 million acquisition of women’s healthcare assets from Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.
  • Coesia on acquiring the Instrumentation & Tobacco Machinery business of Molins, a manufacturer of secondary tobacco processing machinery
  • The Momondo Group in connection with its acquisition by the Priceline Group
  • Sienna Biopharmaceuticals on acquiring Creabilis, a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company
  • Chinese-listed Hytera Communications on acquiring London Stock Exchange listed digital radio products manufacturer Sepura Group by way of a Takeover Code scheme of arrangement
  • Carbylan Therapeutics, a developer of clinical-stage specialty pharmaceutical treatments, on its reverse merger with KalVista Pharmaceuticals
  • The Michelin Group on acquiring BookaTable, the online restaurant booking provider*
