Allie O’Hara advises public and private companies and their officers and directors in all aspects of litigation, including major motion practice, fact and expert discovery, trials, and appeals.
Allie primarily represents clients in the technology, media, and healthcare and life sciences industries in connection with:
- Securities class actions
- State fraud claims
- Contract disputes
- Merger disputes
- Shareholder derivative litigation
- Other complex, high-exposure litigation
Allie also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on impact litigation and appellate advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. She has served on the firm’s Recruiting and Pro Bono Committees, and was the Global Chair of the Hispanic and Latin American Lawyers Group.
EXPERIENCE
Allie’s experience includes the following:
- Securing first-round dismissal of a securities class action against Desktop Metal and its officers arising out of its merger with EnvisionTEC
- Defeating motion to expedite Section 14(a) claims against LENSAR and certain of its officers and directors
- Securing a complete defense jury verdict for NextGen Healthcare, Inc. in the first holder’s claim case to go to trial in California in nearly 90 years
- Achieving dismissal of securities class action claims against the former Banc of California Chairman and CEO
- Achieving dismissal of the vast majority of securities class action claims against Obalon Therapeutics and its officers and directors, leading to an early and highly favorable settlement
- Defeating more than 95% of plaintiffs’ claimed damages against Puma Biotechnology in a rare Section 10(b) securities class action to go to jury verdict
- Arguing before the California Court of Appeal and securing an order remanding the case to trial court with instructions to issue her client a restraining order
- Reaching settlement to secure funding for Orange County’s homeless population
- Advising public companies in connection with financing and strategic transactions
