PROFILE

Jonathan Shih advises private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers on commercial lending transactions.

Jonathan represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies as well as private and public company borrowers in a variety of domestic and cross-border commercial lending transactions. He regularly advises on:

  • Asset-based and cash flow credit facilities
  • Acquisition financings
  • Syndicated and direct lending facilities
  • First, second, and split lien financings

Jonathan provides clients with ongoing guidance regarding covenant compliance issues, incremental credit facilities, and amendments and waivers. He draws on extensive experience to explain and interpret complex terms in a business context to help clients negotiate financing terms that take into account the intricacies and nuances of their business and provide operational flexibility.

Complementing his commercial work, Jonathan serves on the pro bono advisory council for Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles and is a Global Leader of the Asian & Middle Eastern Lawyers Group at Latham.

During law school Jonathan served as a senior editor on the Southern California Law Review and as a judicial extern to Judge Consuelo B. Marshall in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
