Tommy Tan is an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Singapore office. Tommy has a multidisciplinary practice, where he advises on a variety of transactional corporate and finance matters.
EXPERIENCE
Tommy’s experience includes advising:
- Black Spade Acquisition II Co, a special purpose acquisition company, on the business combination with World Media and Entertainment Universal Inc., a France-based global media and entertainment company
- KKR and TPG on PropertyGuru Group’s US$1.1 billion proposed take-private acquisition by EQT Private Capital Asia
- Séché Environnement, a renowned French hazardous waste treatment and disposal company, on its:
- SGD311 million co-investment by CVC DIF, the infrastructure arm of leading global private markets manager CVC, in ECO Industrial Environmental Engineering
- SGD605 million acquisition of ECO Industrial Environmental Engineering from Beijing Capital
- ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, a leading data center colocation services provider, on its SGD1.75 billion (approximately US$1.3 billion) investment from global investment firm KKR (through its Asia Pacific Infrastructure Investors II Fund), and Singtel, Asia’s leading communications technology group. The transaction marks the largest digital infrastructure investment in Southeast Asia to date in 2024
- TPG on the sale of all its shares in Singapore Life Holdings Pte Ltd (Singlife), to one of Singlife’s substantial shareholders, Sumitomo Life Insurance Company
- A consortium comprising TPG, Singapore Life (SingLife), Sumitomo Life Insurance Company, and others on a transaction to combine SingLife with Aviva Singapore — which, with a combined valuation of SGD3.2 billion, marks one of the largest mergers in the insurance sector in Southeast Asia and the largest in Singapore
- The underwriters in PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk’s US$372.1 million rights offering
- PT Gajah Tunggal in its offer of US$250 million 8.375% senior secured notes due 2022
- The underwriters on UFO Moviez’s initial public offering listed on the BSE, NSE, and MCX
- Temasek Holdings in its sale of shares for the initial public offering and subsequent secondary offering of Athene Holding Inc. on the NYSE
