PROFILE

Becky Critchley advises a range of financial institutions on matters of complex UK financial services regulation, particularly relating to consumer protection, structured finance transactions, and benchmark regulation.

Becky leverages a keen understanding of the regulatory and market landscapes, as well as trusted relationships with industry bodies, to help investment banks, corporate finance houses, regtech and fintech companies, fund managers, lenders, and online trading business navigate:

Becky collaborates closely with the firm’s Structured Finance team to bring her extensive experience in consumer protection and regulated lending to clients’ transactions.

Becky maintains an active pro bono practice, including advising on regulated lending for social enterprises and nonprofit organizations.

  • Private equity clients on UK regulatory advice on transactions involving UK regulated entities
  • Existing and new financial services clients in relation to ongoing compliance with MiFID II
  • Global banks on their applications to the FCA for registration as authorized benchmark administrators
  • Global banks and independent index providers on compliance with the benchmark regulation
  • Benchmark administrators on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) compliance
  • Global banks on Consumer Duty implementation
  • An international bank on changing its outsourcing arrangements to near-shoring arrangements
