PROFILE
Jordan David Barnes is an associate in in the Tax Department of Latham & Watkins’ Los Angeles office. Jordan advises clients on executive compensation and employee benefits.
Jordan represents public and private companies, as well as private equity funds and real estate investment trusts (REITs), on employee benefits and executive compensation matters relating to:
- Mergers and acquisitions, financings, initial public offerings (IPOs), spin-offs, restructurings, and other corporate transactions
- Public company representation, including preparing executive compensation disclosures for proxy statements and other securities filings
- The negotiation, design, and administration of various types of compensation arrangements for senior executives and other employees, including employment agreements, separation/severance agreements, change-in-control arrangements, equity incentive arrangements, deferred compensation programs, and other incentive-based arrangements
Jordan is active in the firm’s pro bono program, representing small businesses on a range of legal matters, including entity formation and employment practices. She also serves as the pro bono liaison for Bet Tzedek Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm in Los Angeles.
Jordan graduated from UCLA School of Law, where she was named a Thomas A. Kirschbaum tax scholar and selected for membership in the Order of Barristers. While attending law school, she was an editor and the business manager of the UCLA Law Review and served as co-president of the UCLA Tax and Estate Planning Law Association.
