PROFILE
José Luis Bootello is an associate in the Madrid office of Latham & Watkins. He advises national and international clients from different industries on general corporate, capital markets and contractual matters, and provides day-to-day advice on Spanish corporate and commercial regulations.
He focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, restructuring processes, and corporate finance transactions. He has also assisted companies on restructuring processes and distressed investments.
EXPERIENCE
José Luis' experience includes advising:
- Cox ABG Group, a vertically and horizontally integrated utility of water and energy, on its €805 million IPO
- The controlling shareholders of Opdenergy in connection with the €866 million takeover bid launched by funds advised by Antin Infrastructure Partners and their subsequent reinvestment in the offeror
- Enerside on its €35 million IPO on the BME Growth market
- Brookfield Asset Management in the acquisition of Spanish slate producer Cupa from The Carlyle Group
- CVC on its €2 billion strategic investment in LaLiga to set in motion LaLiga Impulso, the project to boost the global growth of LaLiga and its clubs
- Partners Group in the creation of a joint venture with Dunas Capital to invest in real estate assets in Spain
- Platinum Equity in the acquisition of Urbaser, a leading provider of environmental services, from China Tianying for an enterprise value of approximately €3.5 billion
- Fertiberia, the leading fertilizer and industrial products manufacturer, on the issuance of senior secured bonds in both the Nordic Capital Market and Frankfurt Open Market, for an initial amount of €125 million
- Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) in the all-cash voluntary friendly tender offer by SIX Group, the Swiss financial markets infrastructure operator, for €2.8 billion
- Tristan Capital Partners in relation to the syndicated development financing of a joint-venture development with Acciona Inmobiliaria of an office complex
- Triton Partners in the acquisition of Fertiberia, a Spain-based company that manufactures and markets fertilizers and agricultural chemicals, from Grupo Villar Mir
- KKR in the takeover bid (OPA) over Telepizza Group SA
