Ben Smith is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.
Ben primarily represents clients in intellectual property litigation before the United States District Courts and the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). His experience includes matters spanning a wide range of technologies, including consumer electronics, wireless communications, semiconductor packaging, and pharmaceutical development.
Ben maintains an active pro bono practice, most recently advising individuals seeking asylum with the Border Protection Project.
Prior to joining Latham, Ben served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Robert J. Shelby of the United States District Court for the District of Utah. He also served as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah during his final year of law school at the University of Virginia.
Ben received his BS, cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
