PROFILE
LeHeng (Henry) Li is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Prior to joining full-time, Henry was a summer associate in the firm’s New York office.
Henry advises clients on criminal and civil government investigations, internal investigations, and civil and criminal litigation, and works closely with clients on reviewing and enhancing their compliance programs. Additionally, Henry regularly advises clients on anti-corruption issues in connection with cross-border M&A and financing transactions.
Henry maintains an active pro bono practice, where he represents clients in immigration and housing matters.
Henry received his JD from Harvard Law School, where he served as the executive editor for Harvard Journal of Law and Technology and as a technical editor for Harvard Law and Policy Review. He also worked as a student attorney at the Cyberlaw Clinic at Harvard Law School and the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic. For his pro bono services, Henry was named to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Pro Bono Honor Roll.
EXPERIENCE
Henry’s investigations and compliance work includes representing:
- Several multinational companies in internal and government-facing anti-corruption investigations around the world
- A global life sciences company in conducting compliance assessments and providing ongoing compliance advice
- A China-based home appliance manufacturer in a US Department of Energy investigation regarding alleged violations of energy efficiency standards
- A global exercise equipment manufacturer in a criminal investigation related to reporting requirements under the Consumer Product Safety Act
Henry’s litigation experience includes representing:
- Charter Communications, a leading US telecommunications company, regarding a consumer suit accusing Charter and its Spectrum unit of falsely advertising its internet speeds. In May 2023, Latham successfully secured dismissal with prejudice
- Shopify Inc. in a suit challenging its eligibility for DMCA immunity
- A NYSE-listed life sciences company in two complex arbitrations related to various development and licensing agreements
