Luis Sánchez Mendez represents Spanish and international clients at the forefront of high-stakes Spanish and cross-border restructurings and financings, including direct lending.
Drawing on his sophisticated understanding of complex capital structures and versatility across banking and restructuring, Luis delivers broad-based counsel to creditors, companies, and investors. He brings particular experience debt restructurings and specialized investment funds’ investments in distressed assets. He advises clients on matters involving:

- The ad hoc group of lenders on the restructuring of Pronovias, a Spain-based bridal wear designer
- The ad hoc group of noteholders and shareholders of Naviera Armas on the second restructuring of its financial structure and corporate reorganization
- Avenue Capital, as main creditor, in the restructuring of Spanish real estate company Single Home
- The ad hoc group of bondholders in the bridge financing to Naviera Armas, in the context of its restructuring process
- Commerzbank and the syndicate of lenders on refinancing Benteler Group's existing financial debt by implementing a senior facilities agreement
- Banco Santander on restructuring a Spanish law-governed counter-guarantee agreement initially entered into with Kenbourne Invest II
Acquisition and Leveraged Finance
- Boluda Towage on the amend-and-extend and upsize of its €1.1 billion term loan B and revolving facilities
- Bain Capital Credit on investing in Food Service Project (Alsea Europe), a Spain-based owner and operator of fast-food restaurants
