PROFILE

Kevin Smith is an associate in the San Diego office of Latham & Watkins.

Kevin represents and advises clients on a variety of high-stakes complex commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes, insurance coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, unfair competition, business torts, and toxic torts.

Kevin maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented numerous veterans before Boards for Correction of Military/Naval Records, the Department of Veterans Affairs Board of Veterans' Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Kevin earned his JD from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. During law school, Kevin served as a legal intern for the Department of Justice Office of Legal Policy and a judicial extern for Judge Brian M. Cogan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Prior to law school, Kevin attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army.
