PROFILE

Alexandra Lisner is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. Alexandra is a member of the firm’s Finance Department and Restructuring & Special Situations Practice.

Alexandra represents companies, lenders, shareholders, and other parties across various industries in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, as well as in other distressed situations.

Alexandra maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes providing assistance to individuals seeking asylum and survivors of gender violence seeking to gain legal permanent resident status in the United States. In addition to several immigration matters, Alexandra’s pro bono practice also includes representing parents of students with disabilities and special education needs.

Prior to joining Latham full-time, Alexandra was a summer associate in the New York office. 

While in law school, Alexandra was a member of the Urban Law Journal, served as the negotiation editor of the Dispute Resolution Society and was a competitor on the Fordham ABA Law Student Negotiation Team. Alexandra also participated in Fordham’s Family Advocacy Clinic, where she represented parents seeking quality education services for their children within the New York City special education system.  In addition, Alexandra served as an intern for The Legal Aid Society of New York City in the Juvenile Rights Practice.

Prior to law school, Alexandra earned her Master of Education at Southern Methodist University and taught third grade at a Title I Elementary School in Texas.

EXPERIENCE

Alexandra’s experience includes advising:

  • 2U, Inc. and affiliated debtors in their prepackaged chapter 11 cases in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York
  • Robertshaw US Holding Corp. and affiliated debtors in their chapter 11 cases in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Texas
  • Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, a branded and generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, in its second chapter 11 cases in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware
  • Endeavor and Silver Lake as majority equity sponsors of Learfield Communications, a leading college athletics technology, data, and content firm, in its out-of-court recapitalization and restructuring
  • EPR Properties as the largest landlord in the Cineworld chapter 11 cases
  • The equity sponsors in the chapter 11 cases of TPC Group Inc
