PROFILE
Tanya Khiatani is an associate in the San Diego office of Latham & Watkins.
Tanya assists project sponsors and lenders in the development and financing of energy projects. She also regularly assists clients in the drafting and reviewing of energy offtake arrangements and other ancillary agreements relating to the ownership, operation, acquisition, and disposition of infrastructure projects and commercial developments.
Tanya also maintains an active FERC regulatory practice and works on matters involving electric generation, transmission, distribution and energy storage.
Prior to joining Latham, Tanya managed the equity trading operations for an ESG-focused mutual fund and the east power structuring desk for Calpine’s retail arm. She received her JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she co-founded and served as President of the Georgetown Energy Law Group. She also worked as a judicial extern for Judge Thomas J. Whelan in the US District Court of the Southern District of California and as a legal extern for the US Department of Energy’s Office of Assistant General Counsel for Electricity and Fossil Energy. In addition, she worked for a private equity firm focused on developing renewable energy projects and as a law clerk for the Office of FERC Commissioner, Allison Clements.
