PROFILE

Siyao Liu is an associate in the Houston office of Latham & Watkins.

Before joining Latham, Siyao was a summer associate in Latham’s Houston office.

Siyao received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center. While attending law school, Siyao served as a representative of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and a teaching assistant for Introduction to U.S. Legal System.

Prior to law school, Siyao worked as a law clerk for a law firm in Washington D.C., advising clients on securities litigation matters.

EXPERIENCE

Siyao’s experience includes advising on:

  • Merger between Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Southwestern Energy Company, a producer and marketer of natural gas and natural gas liquids
  • Project financing in connection to Ascension Clean Energy project, a blue and green hydrogen-ammonia project located in Louisiana, US
  • Acquisition by Greenbelt Capital Management of Saber Power Services, a fully integrated substation and medium-to-high-voltage infrastructure services platform
  • Acquisition by Archrock of Total Operations and Production Services, a provider of contract gas compression services for the Permian Basin and portfolio company of funds managed by Apollo Global Management
  • Project refinancing in connection to Eagle LNG project, an LNG facilitiy located in Florida, USA
  • Sale by Ceiba Energy, a portfolio company of Denham Capital, of a 1.6 GW capacity reserve contract intended to add downstream power infrastructure to existing Brazilian LNG assets
  • Sale of Caerus Oil and Gas, an upstream energy company and portfolio company of Oaktree Capital Management, to Koda Resources and QB Energy, two portfolio companies of Quantum Capital Group
  • Business combination between Montana Technologies, a developer of a renewable energy and cooling technology, and Power & Digital Infrastructure Acquisition II, a special purpose acquisition company
  • Project financing in connection with the development and construction of and the sale, lease, and operation of a portfolio of RNG projects in the US
  • Archrock, Inc., a provider of natural gas contract compression services, with respect to general corporate representation and securities matters
