PROFILE

Catie English is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Catie represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, development projects, and other corporate and commercial transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Catie represents strategic and financial investors, independent power producers, project developers, and financial institutions, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects at all phases of development, construction, and operation, as well as infrastructure projects.

EXPERIENCE

Catie’s experience includes advising:

  • EDPR Renewables North America in the acquisition of a majority interest in the distributed solar platform of C2 Energy Capital*
  • Starwood Energy Group in:
    • Its sale of the 102 MW Coram wind project in California to NextEra Energy Partners*
    • Its acquisition of a 252 MW portfolio of operating renewable assets in California and Texas from Consolidated Edison Development Inc.*
  • Core Solar in its sale to TotalEnergies Renewables USA*
  • SunEast Renewables in its sale of a 900 MW development-stage solar portfolio to Cordelio Power*
  • Ontario Power Generation in its US$298 million acquisition of Eagle Creek Renewable Energy*
  • Intel in connection with a first-of-its-kind US$30 billion joint investment arrangement with Brookfield relating to two new chip factories in Arizona*
  • Enel in the sale of an 80% interest and subsequent 10% interest in a 760 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects, and related joint ownership arrangements*
  • Brookfield Renewable in its strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon to develop renewable energy projects and pursue additional green energy opportunities*
  • The US Department of Transportation in various financings under the TIFIA and RRIF programs run by the Build America Bureau*
  • Deepwater Wind LLC in the negotiation of a 20-year power purchase agreement for the 90 MW South Fork offshore wind project, which will be the second-ever offshore wind farm in the United States*
