PROFILE
Telmo Iriondo is an associate in the Madrid office of Latham & Watkins. He advises national and international corporates, private equity funds, and financial institutions on the regulatory aspects of complex corporate transactions and litigation against Spanish public administrations and administrative courts. He is a member of the firm’s Environment, Land & Resources Practice.
Telmo’s regulatory experience spans across a broad range of sectors, including those of infrastructure, energy, telecoms, and life sciences, providing guidance related to:
- Regulatory, data privacy, and compliance aspects of M&A
- Spanish foreign investment regime
- Permitting and public procurement matters
- Environmental law issues
Prior to joining Latham, he worked as an associate in the Public Law department of a Magic Circle firm in Madrid.
EXPERIENCE
Telmo’s experience includes advising:
- SSE Renewables on the regulatory and FDI aspects related to the purchase, to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, of its existing European onshore wind platform for a consideration of €580 million*
- CPP Investments on the regulatory and FDI aspects related to the purchase of a 24.99% stake in the environmental services division of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, S.A. for a consideration of €965 million*
- KKR on the regulatory and FDI aspects related to the purchase of the leading fertility group IVI-RMA for €3 billion, as well as on the subsequent divestment of certain acquired clinics*
- MásMóvil on the regulatory and FDI aspects of its agreement with Orange to combine their telecommunications business in Spain through the creation of a 50/50 joint venture, with a €19.6 billion combined enterprise value*
- EQT on the regulatory and environmental aspects of the sale of a 50% stake in SAUR, specialized in water management, to a consortium composed of DIF Capital Partners and PGGM*
- Elios Health on the regulatory aspects of the divestment of the fertility services provider Eugin Group to a consortium formed by global fertility group IVI-RMA and GED Capital for €500 million*
- PGGM on the regulatory aspects of its acquisition of a 100% stake in Residencias de Estudiantes - RESA, a leading Spanish student accommodation group*
