PROFILE

Lois Pickering is an associate in the Dubai office of Latham & Watkins, having previously worked for a Magic Circle firm in its Dubai office.

Lois has advised on some of the most significant capital markets transactions in the Middle East, advising regional issuers (including the region’s largest corporates and banks) as well as international investment banks on a wide range of conventional and Islamic-compliant capital markets offerings. 

EXPERIENCE

Lois’ experience includes advising:

  • Emirates REIT in connection with the issuance of US$205 million secured trust certificates due 2028 issued by Emirates REIT Sukuk III Limited
  • The dealers in connection with the updates of Saudi Aramco's GMTN and sukuk programs and the managers in connection with the issuance of (1) US$6 billion notes under the GMTN program and (2) US$3 billion certificates under the Sukuk program (2024)
  • The dealers and managers in connection with the update of Emirates Strategic Investments Company’s sukuk program (2024)*
  • The dealers and managers in connection with the annual updates of First Abu Dhabi Bank’s US$5 billion sukuk program and US$20 billion EMTN program, and a number of drawdowns thereunder (2024-2022)*
  • The dealers and managers in connection with the establishment of the Public Investment Fund’s unlimited sukuk program (2023)*
  • The dealers and managers in connection with the update of a regional energy company’s sukuk and GMTN programs, an issuance thereunder and the tender of an existing series of notes (2023)*
  • Saudi National Bank on the annual updates of its US$5 billion sukuk program and US$5 billion GMTN program, and a number of drawdowns thereunder (2022-2023)*
