Latham Awarded Multiple Accolades at IFLR Europe Awards 2024

Firm won US Law Firm of the Year, High-Yield Team of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, and also advised on two Deal of the Year winners.

Latham & Watkins won a number of accolades at the IFLR Europe Awards 2024, across Firm of the Year, Team of the Year, and Rising Star categories, as well as advising on award-winning deals. The firm was shortlisted across 27 categories and transactions in total. The awards recognize legal innovation and showcase transactions that break new legal ground, set precedents, and develop the legal environment for cross-border corporate finance.

Latham’s recognitions include:

  • US Law Firm of the Year — The firm was recognized for its work advising on innovative, high-profile deals across the market.
  • High Yield Team of the Year — Latham’s European high yield practice was recognized for advising on a number of standout transactions, this marks the ninth time the team has won the award over the past 10 years.
  • Rising Star of the Year Hamburg finance counsel Hendrik Hauke was named among the Regional Rising Stars of the Year, honored for his impact on a number of complex and notable deals.

Latham also advised on award winning deals, including:

  • Equity Deal of the Year — The firm advised the underwriters on TUI’s €1.8 billion capital raise, which helped to repay aid granted by the German state in the wake of Covid and to reduce its credit with KfW.
  • High Yield Deal of the Year — Latham advised the initial purchaser on Eroski’s €500 million senior secured notes, which represented the first high yield deal out of Spain by a cooperative entity with public listed securities.
