Jose Barragan-Monge is an associate in the Orange County office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firm’s Finance Department.

Jose represents both institutional lenders and corporate borrowers on secured credit facilities, acquisition financing, and other financial matters. As part of his active pro bono practice, Jose works closely with community nonprofit organizations assisting low-income tenants respond to eviction lawsuits.

Prior to joining Latham, Jose worked at an international law firm where he represented private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in complex debt financing transactions including secured and unsecured financings, restructurings, and debtor-in-possession and exit financings.

Jose received his JD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. While in law school, Jose was an editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal and the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal
