David A. York

Retired Partner

David A. York retired from the partnership in May 2008. A member of the Washington, D.C. office and of the Litigation Department, Mr. York was qualified to practice before the California and the District of Columbia bars as well as several federal courts including the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is an inactive member of the Illinois, Michigan and Virginia bars.

Mr. York's practice concentrated on the litigation of patent, copyright and other technology cases. He has tried many civil cases to verdict in federal and state court, and in arbitration, in the context of patent, trade secret, government contracts and product liability matters.

He served as a First Lieutenant from the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, including service as a armored cavalry platoon leader in Viet Nam. Mr. York is also an active aircraft pilot, holding current instrument and multiengine ratings.
