Lawyers for a Sustainable Economy
In September 2018, we helped found Lawyers for a Sustainable Economy, a first-of-its-kind initiative dedicated to advancing sustainability goals through pro bono efforts.
We are proud to be a founding member of Lawyers for a Sustainable Economy (LSE), a first-of-its-kind initiative built on an the founding firms’ unprecedented commitments from law firms to support sustainability through pro bono efforts. In September 2018, Latham pledged to donate legal services worth at least US$2 million through the end of 2020 to organizations advancing sustainability worldwide. We exceeded this commitment by 500% by the end of 2020, having contributed more than US$11 million and over 16,700 pro bono hours toward organizations promoting sustainability.
In January 2024, we renewed our commitment to LSE. Our work ranges from advising on carbon credit programs and reforestation efforts to ocean conservation and clean energy initiatives.
