Latham partner recognized for innovative work which resulted in a rapid victory for the London Metal Exchange
Washington, D.C. antitrust partner Peggy Zwisler was named “Litigator of the Week” by both Litigation Daily and Global Competition Review for her novel approach in defending the London Metal Exchange (LME) in a multidistrict class action. Zwisler along with partners Bill Sherman and Jennifer Giordano as well as associates Jeff Newhouse, Chris Fawal, Will Rawson, and Derek Linkous achieved a major victory for the LME on August 26, 2014, when a federal district court held that it is immune from suit in the US under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. Both publications hailed Zwisler’s work with Litigation Daily writing, “Zwisler has added another victory to a long and impressive career. According to Law360, Zwisler has tried at least 14 antitrust cases—a high number, given how rarely such cases ever go before a jury—and won 10 of them outright.” GCR also wrote, “It’s a big win, and one the LME’s legal team are rightly proud of.”

Zwisler is a part of a global antitrust and competition team that regularly provides forward-looking, business-centric advice and counsel on the full scope of antitrust and competition law issues. The group delivers an integrated platform that serves clients’ needs both locally and globally, addressing all dimensions of antitrust risk.
