WILEF once again awards Latham its “gold standard.”
Latham & Watkins has been named a Gold Standard firm by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), for the fifth year in a row. WILEF recognizes law firms that have integrated women into their highest leadership positions. The organization serves as an educational and networking platform for women lawyers in private practice and in-house legal departments in the United States.
Emphasizing leadership roles achieved by women partners, WILEF’s certification program requires candidates to successfully demonstrate “that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees,” among other benchmarks. Latham is among 44 firms that received 2015 gold standard certification. The firm is proud to have been honored every year since the certification initiative was launched in 2011.
“The legal industry recognizes the importance of diversity in the profession more than ever before, and is actively cultivating and fostering it. Latham is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, and we will continue to devise, develop and implement policies that support those groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the legal industry, including women,” said Ora Fisher, Firm Vice Chair.
“Latham & Watkins supports its women lawyers, as can be seen by the firm’s many pioneering gender-focused initiatives, including our Women Enriching Business Committee, Women’s Leadership Academies and global women’s affinity group. We are thrilled to be once again recognized for our efforts by WILEF,” Olivia Rauch-Ravisé, Co-Chair of the Women Enriching Business Committee.
