Litigator is recognized for advising clients in cases that involve cutting-edge issues of complex corporate and financial significance.

Law360 has named Orange County partner and Executive Committee member Michele Johnson among a select group of “Influential Women in Securities Law.” In a published profile, Law360 highlighted that Johnson “has fought shareholder challenges to billions of dollars' worth of acquisitions” in M&A Litigation and has advised clients in cases that “blazed new ground in securities law,” particularly in representing Allergan, Inc. to defeat a hostile takeover bid that cleared the way for its successful merger with Actavis plc. In the article, Allergan’s general counsel during the high-profile merger saga noted that Johnson is “a strong business person” who understands a corporate board’s objectives in ways that escape many lawyers. Latham partner Peter Wald, a fellow member of the firm’s market-leading Securities Litigation & Professional Liability practice, recounted working with Johnson on several challenging securities litigation cases, calling her “a uniquely gifted lawyer.”
