New York Office Recognized for Sustainability Efforts
The New York City Bar’s Environmental Law Committee recently recognized our New York office for its efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. These efforts include its upcoming participation in the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s Commercial Tenant Program, which “helps tenants enhance the comfort, efficiency, and productivity of their office spaces” by analyzing energy usage and offering suggestions for improvement. The firm was praised for “set[ting] the example for other law firms to follow,” particularly in making the business case for sustainability.
Highlights of the New York office’s sustainability program include a substantial LED retrofit, strategic placement of hallway and occupancy motion sensors to reduce energy waste, and a reduction in condenser water usage. In summer 2020, our New York office will move to a new space, with such sustainable features as glass interior walls, complete curtain wall renovation, high-performance exterior glass, high-efficiency fixtures, intelligent space configuration, low VOC and renewable interior materials, and outside air dampers to optimize indoor air quality.
