Latham Receives Pro Bono Award
The Legal Aid Society recently presented Latham & Watkins with the Scott C. Solberg Pro Bono Award in recognition of the firm’s strong commitment to providing pro bono legal services. The award recognizes Latham’s contributions to LAS’s Elder Help Desk, power of attorney clinic, and ongoing work on its U-visa/VAWA project. With respect to the U-Visa/VAWA project, Latham attorneys represent clients in partnership with attorneys from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in Chicago. Latham is grateful to Meghan Hansen, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, Government Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement, and former Latham counsel, who was instrumental in facilitating the collaboration between Latham and J.P. Morgan on these matters.
“The priority of our pro bono program is to engage on behalf of individuals who would be denied access to basic civil and human rights without the benefit of a lawyer, including immigrant victims of crime, the elderly, and other vulnerable community members,” said Chicago associate Adam Rosenbloom, who accepted the award on the firm’s behalf. “We are grateful that our partnership with LAS allows us to serve these members of our community. We are honored to accept this award from LAS, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
