Latham Advises on Italian Mid Market Deal of the Year

Latham & Watkins has earned recognition for advising on the Mid Market Deal of the Year at PBV Monitor and BeezBeez’s Private Capital Tax & Legal Focus Event. Milan partner Stefano Sciolla was also named Private Capital M&A Mid Market Lawyer of the Year at the prestigious industry gathering.

Latham earned the Deal of the Year recognition for advising BC Partners in connection with its acquisition of Pasticceria Bindi S.p.A. The deal underscores increased interest among private equity firms in investing in small and family-owned food businesses. Sciolla, who led the transaction, also earned recognition for his key role in a series of other high-profile transactions in the past year.

Held in Courmayeur, Italy, the 2020 Private Capital Tax & Legal Focus Event recognized the achievements of law firms, lawyers, and private capital operators in Italy based on a 12-month assessment conducted by PBV Monitor. This year’s event also featured analysis and discussion of legal matters related to Italy’s private debt and venture capital markets.
