Dan Wall Named GCR Lawyer of the Year
Bay Area partner and former Chair of Latham’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice Dan Wall has been named Lawyer of the Year by Global Competition Review (GCR), the world’s leading antitrust publication. As selected by GCR editors and readers alike, Lawyer of the Year honors “a competition lawyer whose superior skill, practical judgement and excellence in client service in 2019 demonstrate that he or she is among the very best in the field,” and is the highest individual accolade annually given as part of the publication’s coveted GCR Awards. In their coverage, GCR noted Wall “took on precedent-setting matters.”
In his remarks accepting the award, Wall paid homage not only to the Latham group he helped expand and place as among the world’s most elite antitrust practices, but also to his peers and the clients he serves. “I stand on the shoulders of, and side-by-side with, some of the best antitrust lawyers in the world. I thank my colleagues as well as my clients, who gave me the mandates that enabled me to have the opportunity to earn this recognition.” Addressing his clients specifically, Wall added, “It’s more than enough to get to handle your work, but to be able to be successful together and to receive an honor like this is extra special.”
Latham also earned several additional GCR Awards as part of the publication’s tenth annual celebration of the antitrust world’s most cutting-edge matters and elite individual practitioners. PartnerPeggy Zwislerwas given special recognition byGCRand the international antitrust community, named the GCR Award Lifetime Achievement honoree for 2020. A cross-border team representing Facebook before Germany’s highest courts also took home the GCR Award for Behavioral Matter of the Year – Europe.
