Latham & Watkins Advises Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund
A cross-office team has advised Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund on a number of transactions. The US$1 billion fund supports Microsoft’s ambitious sustainability goals and commitment to going carbon negative by 2030. Latham has advised the Fund on its investments in Climeworks’ first-of-a-kind commercial-scale, fully renewable carbon capture and mineralization plant in Iceland, and in CarbonCure, which manufactures technology that introduces recycled carbon dioxide into fresh concrete. A Latham team also advised on the Fund’s investment with Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (SEACEF), which is helping accelerate the transition to low carbon in Southeast Asia. These companies and initiatives are taking a cutting-edge approach to building a more sustainable world.
