Washington, D.C. partner Alice Fisher recognized by Global Investigations Review as an established leader in the investigations world.

Alice Fisher, a partner in Latham & Watkins’ White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice, has been recognized in Global Investigations Review’s (GIR’s) Top FCPA Practitioners survey, serving as “a guide to the leading lawyers and forensic advisers in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act space.” The survey reflects extensive market research, including interviews with “130 industry insiders, including practice heads, in-house lawyers, and former government officials.”

In its coverage, GIR noted that Fisher “is known for her active FCPA practice, and is regarded as one of the best in the field by some of the top corporate defense lawyers around.” GIR added, “An array of corporations from financial institutions to pharmaceutical companies have entrusted Fisher with high-stakes cases.” The publication also highlighted Fisher’s previous experience as head of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) Criminal Division, where she oversaw foreign bribery enforcement.

Fisher is part of a global team of Latham lawyers who handle FCPA and related bribery and corruption matters on behalf of clients around the world. According to GIR, the firm “has a pedigree in the FCPA space and was recognized as the Most Impressive Investigations Practice of the Year at the GIR Awards in 2019.” In particular, GIR noted that the team’s “success is also down to another well-regarded white-collar lawyer, Douglas Greenburg, a former attorney in the SEC’s enforcement division.” Greenburg, Global Chair of Latham’s White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice, was also featured in the article for representing technology company Cognizant through its SEC settlement and related DOJ declination, as well as engineering company TechnipFMC through its FCPA settlement

Latham’s experienced FCPA team also includes Leslie Caldwell, who — along with Fisher — is among only three women to have ever served as Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division. The firm’s FCPA team is uniquely qualified to handle complex, high-stakes government investigations with its deep bench of former US government prosecutors and former senior SEC officials covering years of experience managing major FCPA investigations. With Latham’s geographic platform and deep litigation experience, the firm is one of only a few firms capable of providing on-the-ground counsel within hours of crises such as dawn raids or surprise government investigations.
