Meaghan Thomas-Kennedy’s deep tech capabilities further enhance the firm’s elite global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Meaghan Thomas-Kennedy has rejoined the firm’s Bay Area offices as a partner in the Antitrust & Competition Practice and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department. Thomas-Kennedy is a highly regarded antitrust litigator with a focus on monopolization cases, particularly those involving major technology companies.

“It’s wonderful to welcome Meaghan back home to Latham,” said Sarah Ray, Deputy Managing Partner of the firm’s Bay Area offices. “As clients, particularly tech companies, face increased antitrust scrutiny, having a seasoned professional like Meaghan on board to help navigate these complex cases will enhance our ability to ensure the success of our clients.”

Thomas-Kennedy has built a broad antitrust practice ranging from antitrust class actions, to international cartels, to monopolization and merger challenges by the US Department of Justice and US Federal Trade Commission. She brings a wealth of experience from her recent role at Apple, where she led the strategy for the company’s North American antitrust litigation docket, was responsible for the company’s highest-risk antitrust cases, and provided strategic counsel on multiple complex litigation matters. She draws on her prior experience at Latham and as in-house counsel to provide clients a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities that companies face in the antitrust arena.

“Meaghan’s return to Latham is a major win for our practice and our clients,” added Michael Egge, Global Chair of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice. “Her deep knowledge of the complexities that can arise in antitrust litigation, particularly in Section 2 monopolization cases, makes her an invaluable addition to our elite team as we successfully tackle the world’s most challenging and cutting-edge matters.”

“I am excited to be back at Latham and apply the skills I developed in my time at Apple to continue expanding not only my practice but also our firm’s global platform,” said Meaghan Thomas-Kennedy. “Having practiced in-house, I have a renewed admiration for the depth and breadth that Latham offers, and I’m thrilled to rejoin the world’s top antitrust practice.”

Meaghan rejoins Latham from Apple, where she was Principal Counsel — Antitrust Litigation.

Meaghan received her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2011 and her BA from Smith College in 2005.
