Latham & Watkins Advises Telefónica on US$1.245 Billion Sale of Argentina Operations

Members of the firm’s Latin America Practice represented one of the largest providers of telecommunications services in Latin America in the transaction.

Telefónica announced that it has reached an agreement with TELECOM Argentina to sell all of its shares in the share capital of Telefónica Argentina. The transaction, valued at US$1.245 billion, is part of the group's strategy to reduce exposure to the region and continue to operate sustainably to build value for its shareholders.

Latham has advised Telefónica on numerous telecommunications mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions in Latin America, including in Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama.
