Nine of the firm's Asia-Pacific deals collectively won 13 awards for excellence.

FinanceAsia recognized nine deals that Latham & Watkins advised on at the publication’s 2024 Achievement Awards. The deals collectively won across 13 categories in the awards program, highlighting Latham’s excellence in financial markets across the region and in key industries, including technology, healthcare, and energy & infrastructure. The publication and an advisory board of outside experts selected the award-winning deals out of 1,000 submissions.

  • Alibaba’s US$5 Billion Convertible Senior Notes Offering – Latham advised the underwriters of the Chinese company’s dual currency bond and US$1.2 billion concurrent stock buyback.

  • Johor Plantations Group’s RM735 Million IPO – Latham advised the palm oil company on its initial public offering, the largest in Malaysia in more than two years.

  • Yinson Boronia Production’s US$1.035 Billion Senior Secured Notes Issuance – Latham advised the global coordinators, joint bookrunners, and co-managers of Yinson Boronia Production’s 144A/Reg S offering of its senior secured notes, which was used to refinance the floating production, storage, and offloading vessel “Anna Nery.”

  • J&T Express’ US$500 Million IPO – Latham advised the global logistics service provider on its initial public offering, the second largest IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023 (excluding over-allotment option).
    • Best IPO: China - Offshore

  • Ola Electric’s US$730 Million IPO – Latham advised India’s leading manufacturer of electric vehicles on the country’s first initial public offering by an EV maker.
    • Highly Commended IPO: South Asia

  • Bayfront Infrastructure Capital V’s US$508 Million Portfolio – Latham advised Clifford Capital, a Singapore-based infrastructure financing platform, on its fifth public infrastructure asset-backed securities transaction through Bayfront Infrastructure Capital V.
    • Best Project Finance Deal: Singapore/APAC

  • Columbia Asia Healthcare’s US$1.2 Billion Acquisition of Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care – Latham advised Columbia Asia Healthcare in its purchase of the healthcare business from Sime Darby Holdings Berhad.
    • Best M&A Deal: Malaysia

  • TPG Capital’s Acquisition of Higher Education Assets in Malaysia – Latham advised TPG’s Rise Fund in its purchase of a controlling stake in Malaysia-based Asia Pacific University, Asia Pacific University Technology and Innovation.     
    • Best Private Equity Deal: Southeast Asia

  • Dhamra LNG Terminal’s US$600 Million Refinancing – Latham advised the sponsors on the refinancing for a regasification terminal project in Odisha, India.
