Latham & Watkins Advises Digital Realty on Its Investment in Digital Realty Bersama

Latham & Watkins has advised Digital Realty, the largest global provider of cloud-and carrier-neutral data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions, on its on its approximate US$100 million investment into Digital Realty Bersama, a 50-50 joint venture with Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia, a leading Southeast Asian digital infrastructure platform, to develop and operate data centers across Indonesia.

Digital Realty Bersama owns and operates a connected campus that includes a recently launched, state-of-the-art data center (CGK11) strategically located in Central Jakarta and another data center (CGK10) located in West Jakarta. Initially launched with 5 megawatts (MW) of IT load capacity, CGK11 is expected to support up to 32MW through its next phase of expansion. BDIA's major shareholders include Provident Capital Partners, Saratoga Investama Sedaya, a Macquarie Asset Management-led consortium, and Distro Hub.

The Latham team was led by Singapore partner James Clayton-Payne and counsel Penelope Davey, with Hong Kong associate Rita Hong and Singapore associates Cherine Teh and Shi Cheng Chong. Advice was provided on US corporate matters by San Diego partner Ann Buckingham; and on tax matters by Los Angeles partner Eric Cho and Century City partner Ana O’Brien.
