Latham & Watkins Advises Monarch in US$250 Million Fund Formation

Firm represented Monarch on its debut fund focused on investing in women’s teams, leagues, and adjacent revenue streams.
Monarch Collective Fund (Monarch), a private equity fund dedicated to women’s sports, has increased the size of its first fund to US$250 million in light of the continued surge in popularity of women’s sports. Monarch’s portfolio includes three National Women’s Soccer League teams: Angel City, the San Diego Wave, and the incoming Boston expansion club.
Latham & Watkins LLP represented Monarch in the formation of the fund with a corporate deal team led by partners Brian Patterson and Nadia Sager, and counsel Amber Franklin, with associate Giannina Marciano.
