Latham’s AI Academy Wins 2025 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Award
Latham & Watkins’ AI Academy won the Best Tech Training Program Implementation award at American Lawyer Media’s (ALM) 2025 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards. The annual awards program honors organizations and professionals who make significant contributions to legal innovation.
In October 2024, Latham launched a first-of-its-kind AI Academy to train Latham lawyers at all levels on AI and its impact on the legal practice and client service. The academy comprises multiple events and hands-on, skills-based training sessions throughout the year tailored to different groups.
“At Latham, legal innovation is about reimagining the practice of law to meet evolving client needs. Our AI Academy exemplifies this by equipping lawyers with the skills needed to navigate AI’s complexities,” Michael Rubin, Global Chair of the firm’s AI Practice, said in an ALM article highlighting the award win.
The multi-pronged AI Academy was developed through a collaboration between Latham’s AI Practice, Training and Career Enhancement (TACE) Committee, and Technology and Information Services Department.
Legalweek shortlisted Latham for five categories, including Innovator of the Year, Litigation Technology & Innovation, Tech-Enabled Transactional Practice, ESG Enablement Through Technology, and Innovation in Diversity and Inclusion.
