American College of Trial Lawyers Inducts Partner Doug Lumish

Bay Area Intellectual Property Litigation Practice partner joins invite-only, preeminent trial organization as a fellow.

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Bay Area Litigation & Trial Practice partner Doug Lumish was recently inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers (the College) during the College’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The College is recognized as the leading trial lawyers’ organization in North America. Fellowship is extended, after careful investigation to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Doug’s induction further cements his reputation as one of the nation’s preeminent trial lawyers.

Doug is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who tries cases for the world’s leading technology and life sciences companies on their most important intellectual property and technology related litigation. He has served terms as Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department, Global Co-Chair of the IP Litigation Practice, and Co-Chair of the Bay Area Litigation & Trial Department. Doug has an exceptional record of winning at all stages of litigation, including at jury trials, bench trials, and on appeal. He regularly handles patent, trade secret, contract, licensing, fraud, and other technology-related cases in courts across the country, and before the International Trade Commission and customs regulators.  He has won jury trials and summary judgments for plaintiffs and defendants alike and has defeated billions of dollars in claims against his clients.

Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the US and Canada. It is dedicated to maintaining and improving the “standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice.” Membership in the College cannot exceed 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province and lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before they can be considered.
