Capital Markets Partner Named Healthcare | Life Sciences Trailblazer
The National Law Journal (NLJ) has recognized New York partner Nathan Ajiashvili in its second annual Healthcare & Life Sciences Trailblazers report, which features lawyers that are “truly agents of change” and “move the needle” in healthcare and life sciences law.
In his published profile, the NLJ cited his groundbreaking representation of Zentalis Pharmaceuticals in its IPO. The transaction was not only the first biotech IPO to launch post the economic downturn due to COVID-19, but it was also the first IPO to ever have an all virtual roadshow with investors. Due to the success of the IPO, virtual roadshows have now become a reliable way IPOs are marketed and will likely remain part of roadshows for the foreseeable future even post pandemic.
The NLJ also highlighted Ajiashvili’s work with VillageMD in its partnership with Walgreens, which Ajiashvili described as “an unprecedented transaction for the industry… [that] will help meet the needs of many patients.”
As far as the future, Ajiashvili says, “The industry is on the cusp of some great innovation that will also change how healthcare is delivered, which includes increased use of artificial intelligence and the growth of telemedicine. I’m excited not just for 2021, but also for the long term.”
