Chicago Finance Partner Named Rising Star by Private Debt Investor
John Lister, a partner in Latham’s Chicago office and member of the firm’s Banking Practice, has been named to Private Debt Investor’s (PDI) list of 2024 Rising Stars, which recognizes “the most talented of the up-and-coming generation in private debt and those PDI believes have the potential to shape the future of the asset class.”
PDI said, “the successful listees were selected based on evidence of their leadership and innovation, the caliber of the clients they have worked with and deals they have generated, and whether they possess an ‘X factor’ that marks them out as a future leader in private debt.”
Lister advises clients on leveraged finance, with a particular focus on private credit middle-market lending, and private equity-backed financings. He draws on deep relationships with private credit providers, private equity funds, and counsel within the leveraged finance sector to effectively and efficiently consummate sophisticated financing transactions.
A recognized thought leader, Lister has presented to the LSTA, the American Bar Association, and a multitude of clients on complicated transaction and deal structures that may not be financeable in the syndicated markets.
Latham’s market-leading direct lending and private debt practice advises the most active lenders, funds, credit platforms, and investment managers, as well as borrowers, in the full range of transactions — from the middle market to large-cap and including cash flow and asset based lending, restructurings, and acquisition financings. Latham was named 2023 Global Law Firm of the Year by PDI, and Chambers USA ranked Latham Band 1 in the publication’s inaugural ranking of nationwide Private Credit practices.
