Co-Deputy Office Managing Partner and Associates Named to Black Women in Asset Management 40 Under 40 Shortlist

Nicole Fanjul, Co-Deputy Office Managing Partner for the New York office, London associate Jennifer Cadet, and Washington, D.C. associate Cierra Warren have been named to the 2023 Black Women in Asset Management (BWAM) 40 under 40 shortlist. The list “celebrates the incredible accomplishments of 40 Black women under the age of 40 in asset management.” As the publication notes, “these Black women are innovators, trailblazers and mentors representing a dynamic roster of investors, portfolio managers, entrepreneurs, legal experts, executives, and thought-leaders, as well as role models who are a testament to the power of hard work, drive, and determination.”

Nicole Fanjul represents lenders and corporate borrowers in various complex financings, with a focus on syndicated leveraged finance and direct lending transactions. Using her knowledge on the debt financing market, she develops creative solutions for clients using a range of loan products and advises large, multinational investment banks and direct lenders, as well as corporate borrowers across industries.

Outside of her practice, Fanjul previously served as the local leader of the New York office’s Black Lawyers Affinity Group and as a member of the firm’s Women Enriching Business, Associates, and Training & Career Enhancement Committees.

Jennifer Cadet represents private and public companies and private equity clients in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and joint ventures in addition to advising general corporate matters. In particular, her dual-qualification and experience practicing in England and California provides her with a unique perspective on transatlantic deals.

Beyond her transactional practice, Cadet is an active member of the firms Diversity Leadership Committee and previously served on the firm’s Recruiting Committee and as a local leader of the Black Lawyers Affinity Group in both London and Silicon Valley.

Cierra Warren advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and general corporate matters. She primarily handles domestic and cross-border transactions including leveraged buyouts, carve-out acquisitions, controlling and minority investments, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, and other strategic transactions across a variety of industries.

Warren maintains an active pro bono practice where she represents clients on corporate governance issues and general corporate matters and also works with the Legal Counsel for the Elderly to draft powers of attorney and wills for low-income seniors in the D.C. area.
