Commercial and Entertainment Litigator Named Among California’s Top 40 Under 40
The Daily Journal, California’s legal newspaper of record, has selected Complex Commercial Litigation partner Nima Mohebbi to its prestigious 40 Under 40 list, which annually celebrates California-based lawyers who are making significant impact in their field.
As highlighted in his profile, Mr. Mohebbi turned in a stellar year of headline-making results on a wide range of disputes and legal work. With Latham partner Jamie Wine, he led the cross-office, multi-department team that achieved a decisive victory in the high-profile defamation and antitrust lawsuit brought in Missouri federal court by chess grandmaster Hans Niemann against Latham clients Chess.com, LLC, Chess.com’s Chief Chess Officer Danny Rensch, and Play Magnus Group, as well as grandmasters Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura.
Mr. Mohebbi is also a pioneer in the entertainment and burgeoning legal-tech spaces, advising on artificial intelligence and Web3 issues. One such illustrative success in this growing sector is his work advising The Chainsmokers in the music duo’s groundbreaking Web3 music royalty transaction. Beyond The Chainsmokers, he has recently advised several high-profile celebrities and artists, entertainment companies, and tech innovators.
